Valley Interventional Pain Management provides diagnostic and therapeutic outpatient services for individuals experiencing pain. Interventional pain management involves special procedures to treat and manage pain. Interventional procedures might include an injection of an anesthetic medicine or steroid around nerves, tendons, joints or muscles, spinal cord stimulation, insertion of a drug delivery system, or a procedure with radio-frequency ablation or cryoablation to stop a nerve from working for a long period of time.

During your initial consultation appointment with your referred pain doctor in his office, a treatment plan will be thoroughly explained to you. You will then be scheduled for your interventional procedure at Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center.

What to Expect:

A patient representative will call you within a few days of your procedure to obtain your medical and insurance information, and give you instructions to be followed regarding your procedure, including:

You will most likely receive a mild short-acting form of anesthesia prior to your procedure. Therefore, you will be asked to have nothing to eat after midnight the night before your procedure. You may drink clear liquids up to 4 hrs before your scheduled time of treatment, but must refrain from ANYTHING by mouth after the 4 hr. limit.
Arrange for a responsible adult to accompany you to VASC and drive you home after your procedure. You will be asked to arrive approximately 45 minutes before your scheduled procedure and will be discharged approximately 1 hour after it.
Bring your drivers license and insurance card to be copied upon admission.
You can expect a call from a pre-operative nurse the day before your scheduled procedure to confirm your appointment and answer any other questions you may have.

VASC is contracted with most insurance plans, including Medicare and Workers Compensation. You will be billed separately by your physician, anesthesiologist and VASC. It is recommended that you contact your insurance provider to discuss your coverage.

If you have any questions regarding your scheduled date at VASC, please call a patient representative at 630-584-9800. Any questions regarding your treatment plan should be addressed to your physician.
